PPE cont'd
I lost my keyboard so I had to do a new post to continue. So class was good. We had a meeting tonight and agreed that at least one fear is resolved. Damned uncertainty. It is almost always worse than reality. We all still have our fears. One of mine is finding scrubs big enough. They hired me, they have to clothe me. Still embarrassing. Bending over to wash my hands I busted out of my tyvek suit, too. I have to remember that because that is just dangerous. I feel humility training coming on. I hate asking for help but this is all about team. If I drop something someone else is just going to have to pick it up. Tomorrow we do it again. Those who know how to start IV's will do so in full gear. I will be someone's partner to make sure they're safe. If they are super kind they will remind me how to do it. We will see. I am feeling better today. This evening is the first I have felt relatively normal since I got here! Yeah!!!

So glad to find your posts today! I was prepared to see no change in the pictures from before, but how amazing! You have found a way to keep family and friends current with you.
ReplyDeleteYour honesty is excruciating and humbling. Getting out of one's cocoon-like comfort zone is one way we truly grow - just hell to go through. Your courage is truly the biggest thing about you, then comes your heart.... Everything else is diminished by your solid willingness to reach out beyond the known and to lend a helping hand.
And you make me feel like such a wus to even have second thoughts about taking the dog hiking at 0 deg with wind on snowy, slippery roads. As I grit my teeth, I'll think of you so wanting this cold.
Thankful to have you as a friend! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thinking of you and your generous, kind, and courageous spirit!!
